The Gravedigger's Ghost Bus Tour begins at Trinity College, where your guide will transport you back some 600 years to the ancient Augustinian Priory and, of course, the plague house. The latter is something your guide is very familiar with... But just ignore the coughing and listen to their stories of a plague-ravaged Dublin. Hear an account of plague victims trying to soothe their wounds in the waters of the city's drinking fountains. Learn about the mayor's schemes to try to keep the disease under control and discover the fate of all the poor souls who were infected with it. Many were ostracized, but some suffered a much, much worse end. Many believed the plague signaled the end of days, but Dublin's history and its horrors lived on. Join your guide as they lead you through the strange and wonderful events of times past, unearthing legends and ghosts of Dublin's past. Select a tour stop from the navigation bar below to learn and read more about what to expect. To be sure, join us on our custom storytelling bus and, through poetry and live music, let us take you on a journey to an Ireland of bygone days. This is no ordinary bus, WE PROMISE YOU WON'T FORGET IT! Notes: This tour is not recommended for children under 14 years of age. Not wheelchair accessible

This monastery was founded in the 6th century by Saint Kevin. Walking through the ruins of the ancient city, visitors can discover Ireland's spiritual and historical heritage. You can also enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant. Hollywood, the former Californian colony that bears its name, combines historical intrigue with picturesque views. A fun tribute to its famous predecessor, Wicklow's Hollywood sign is worth seeing. A sheepdog demonstration on a typical Irish farm highlights various aspects of farming, such as sheep farming and organic vegetable growing. A demonstration of a shepherd using his dogs to guide his sheep is the highlight and provides a unique insight into daily activities in Wicklow. The stops on this tour are designed to give visitors an immersive insight into the natural beauty, rich history and farming lifestyle of the Wicklow area. Itinerary 9:30 AM Meeting Point: Molly Malone Statue (Please arrive 15 minutes before departure time) 10:30 am Glendalough Stop: 90 minutes 12:15 Mealtime (1 hour) Road: 30 minutes 1:30 p.m. Stop: 30 minutes Road: 10 minutes 2:30 p.m. Sheepdog demonstration Stop: 60 minutes 3:15 p.m. Road: 1h15 Arrival at 4:30 pm *Glendalough Once in Glendalough, your guide will give you plenty of time to explore the monastic site and surrounding lakes. Glendalough is home to one of Ireland's most important monastic sites. This early Christian monastic settlement was founded in the 6th century by Saint Kevin. Most of the surviving buildings date from the 10th to 12th centuries. Despite Viking raids over the years, Glendalough thrived as one of Ireland's largest foundations and ecclesiastical schools until the Normans destroyed the monastery in 1214 AD. With over 10 points of interest to visit in Glendalough Valley, including Poulanass Falls and Upper Lake, you'll be captivated by its unique beauty and history. Take a walk and enjoy this magical place, you will not be disappointed. *Hollywood On the way to Hollywood Village, we'll stop at Wicklow Gap, an iconic photo stop. We'll then take a short trip to Hollywood, also known as 'the original Hollywood,' a small village in Wicklow that bore that name long before Hollywood in California even existed. Your guide will take you on a stroll through the valley where St. Kevin made his pilgrimage to Glendalough. Look up at the hillside and see if you can spot Wicklow's version of the Hollywood sign. *Sheepdog demonstration The last stop on our Wicklow day tour is a working sheep farm. Meet a friendly local farmer who will be happy to introduce you to rural farm life. You will be introduced to their working sheepdogs; they will explain the breed of dog used and show you how they are trained to perform their duties. The farmer will also talk about the different breeds of sheep in Ireland and what they are used for. And finally, the main event, a sheepdog demonstration. This is a truly unique experience and offers an excellent insight into how dogs are used to herd sheep, whether on hills or in fields, using voice and whistle commands. Notes: - Breaks will be held at gas stations where you can buy food and use the restroom facilities. - Arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Day Trip: Wicklow and Glendalough Tour

The Hill of Uisneach is the spiritual center of Ireland and undoubtedly one of our most important ancient sites. It is the meeting place of the five provinces of Ireland and where their kings celebrated the festival of fires. Visitors can see the site where St. Fechin founded a Christian monastery in the 7th century. It is believed that before his death, 300 monks lived in the community. The monastery later burned down 12 times. Among the ruins on the site, visitors can see St. Fechin's church, built around 900 AD. Near Loughcrew, the site of several 5,000-year-old Neolithic passage tombs. Get closer to prehistory at these cairns, with their still-intact rock art lavishly decorating the interior walls, built more than 500 years before the first pyramids. Trim Castle is the best-preserved and most impressive example of Anglo-Norman castles in Ireland. It offers a spectacular glimpse into the lives and traditions of medieval people. We travel to The Hill of Tara, best known as the royal residence of the ancient High Kings who ruled Ireland in Celtic times and beyond. It is said that a quarter of Ireland's landscape can be seen from this hill. Enjoy this spectacular view before returning to the capital.
