La Rioja and its wineries

The tour begins in downtown Bilbao and heads directly towards La Rioja via the highway. The route showcases mountainous landscapes until reaching the Plateau with its oak and beech forests.

Our first stop will be in Haro, the wine capital of La Rioja, where we'll visit CVNE, a centuries-old winery that's emblematic of the region. We'll take a guided tour of its essential spaces, including the barrel room, designed by legendary architect Gustave Eiffel. We'll pass through the underground cellars (a cemetery) and enjoy a wine tasting.

After visiting the winery, we'll take a guided walking tour of Haro's historic center, including the Plaza de la Paz. We'll continue our journey through the Haro Station neighborhood, home to the largest number of centuries-old wineries, before heading to the beautiful medieval town of Laguardia.

In Laguardia, we'll stroll through its picturesque streets, a town renowned in Rioja Alavesa for its Historic Monumental Complex and magnificent wineries. We'll visit a small, traditional winery where we'll learn about the winemaking process from a family perspective.

At the end of the winery visit, we will have free time for lunch. Your guide will recommend the best places to eat.

Return directly to Bilbao via the highway and arrive in the center of Bilbao in the middle of the afternoon.
