The Safari Grand Tour and Tasting is an immersive experience that will wow you with the beauty of the Teramo Hills! The team will welcome you at the entrance of the historic Mazzarosa Winery - wine producers since 1863, where you can pick up your basket with everything you need for your picnic. You'll get wine glasses, placemats, corkscrews, a selection of delicious local products, seasonal fruit and a bottle of wine of your choice for 2 people.

Whenever you choose, take a tour of the historic winery and get an overview of the winemaking process. Visit the cooperage and one of the largest barrels in Europe!

Mazzarosa Winery: Country Picnic in the Olive Grove

Start your tour of the Abruzzo Historical Cellar with a brief overview of the cellar's history, the vineyards, and olive groves.

Next, your tour will take you to the cellar and the barrel room. Inside, you'll learn about the ageing methods of the wines and have the opportunity to see the largest barrel in Europe that stores an astonishing 1,000 hectolitres (that's 100,000 litres)!

Now you know there's plenty of wine to go around, so you can start the tasting. Sample five wines that represent the tradition of Abruzzo, but also turn an eye towards innovation and sustainable quality. Your wine comes accompanied by an aperitif of bruschetta, together with oil, sliced meats and cheeses that are typical of the area. Your tasting ends with cantuccini abruzzesi, the perfect match for your final, and sweetest Abruzzo wine, Vino Cotto.
