A life as interesting as his art; Ossip Zadkine was born in Russia and moved to England before studying art in France. Injured in World War I and exiled to New York during WWII (due to his Jewish heritage), his artistic output never hampered.

Alongside the natural wonder of minerals in their pure form, you’ll have the chance to see some rare crown jewels, including the grand sapphire of Louis XIV,  the large opal of Charles X, and the diamond inlaid snuff box of Alexander I.

See nearly 500 sculptures, including plaster, wood, bronze, marble, stone, clay, and cement pieces.

In addition to these sculptures, view a collection of the artist's drawings, with 3,000 sketches and illustrations, along with some prints. 

Also on display are personal portraits painted by the artist's friends, showing her as a strong figure of her time.

While not a complete collection, the selected sculptures highlight key periods of the artist's work from 1910 to 1968. The variety of sculptures in the workshop showcases the artist's evolving style and creativity.
