The Bar and José Ignacio

East of the Maldonado stream lies La Barra, Punta del Este's must-see nightlife spot during the summer and home to the best art galleries.

Strolling past the best beaches—Montoya, Bikini, and more—we arrive in José Ignacio, a town that still maintains the feel of a fishing village. Its cuisine is simple yet sophisticated, as is its architecture, and its hotels are very exclusive. It's a favorite destination for celebrities from around the world, who frequent its beautiful beaches and, at night, enjoy the local private parties.

Upon arrival, we'll have time to visit the beaches, take photos, and enjoy the charming landscapes. Two cultural activities await us on the way back: the magnificent Pablo Atchugarry Museum, with outdoor marble and iron sculptures that blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. And the Museum of the Sea, where the history of Punta del Este is intertwined with its early tourists, the history of the pirates who made their home in the world, and the most diverse collection of snails—among other things.
