Cinque Terre Tour from Milan
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cinque Terre — meaning “five lands” (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso) — is made up of five charming villages dramatically positioned along a short strip of cliffs overlooking the Ligurian Sea, on one of Italy’s most beautiful stretches of coastline.
Leaving Milan, we'll head straight to Cinque Terre and, via a scenic coastal route, reach Manarola. We'll have free time to explore the vineyards, stroll along the piers lined with fishing boats, or watch locals and tourists diving off the rocks in the small harbor! Around lunchtime, we'll take the train to Monterosso al Mare, the largest of the five villages, where we can explore at leisure and visit the beaches along the coast.
Despite the number of tourists, the local charm remains—the restaurants and bars maintain a homey, authentic atmosphere, as if locals simply put some chairs on the terrace, hand-painted a sign, and started welcoming visitors.
From Monterosso, we'll embark on the last and perhaps most impressive part of the trip: a 90-minute boat ride. It's the perfect way to admire the Cinque Terre landscapes and the charming village of Portovenere from the sea. After this unforgettable experience, we'll arrive in La Spezia, where our bus will be waiting for us to return to Milan.
