CITY LIFE: futuristic architecture in the city's former fairgrounds
CityLife is one of Milan's most impressive urban redevelopment projects, completely transforming the former City Fair into a modern 225,000 m² area. With an innovative urban layout and significant visual impact, the neighborhood is marked by three iconic skyscrapers, each designed by renowned international architects.
During the tour, we'll see the Isozaki Tower, nicknamed "Dritto," with its 50 floors and breathtaking panoramic views. It's the second-tallest building in Italy and, following Milanese tradition, houses a replica of the Madonnina at its summit. Next, we'll explore the Libeskind Tower, nicknamed "Curvo," whose shape is reminiscent of a Renaissance half-dome, designed to enclose and protect the square below. Finally, we'll see the Hadid Tower, known as "Storto," with its bold design that simulates a vertical twisting movement, reflecting dynamism and innovation.
Beyond futuristic architecture, the neighborhood offers much more: cutting-edge residential areas, bike paths, pedestrian walkways, and expansive green spaces. We'll also visit the Orti Fioriti di CityLife, a 4,000 m² urban garden with themed spaces such as the Perfume Garden, the Herb Garden, the Avenue of Dwarf Fruits, and the Gourd Pergola.
