Let's explore the state of Florida. Below, we have a suggested travel itinerary, it is not an obligation, just a suggestion for us to take advantage of.
Day 1: Homosassa Springs and Nature Resort
Departure from Kissimmee to Homosassa Springs.
Homosassa Springs and Nature Resort offers 97 secluded riverfront acres ideal for watching manatees and enjoying nature.
Visit Homosassa Springs State Wildlife Park.
Day 2: Perry, Florida
Head to Perry, a convenient stop before turning east toward Alabama.
The KOA in Perry offers a heated pool and is located just 15 minutes from the beach.
Visit Forest Capital State Park.
Day 3: Panama City Beach
Head to St. Andrews State Recreation Area in Panama City Beach, known for its white sand beaches and emerald green waters.
Enjoy water activities such as swimming, diving, kayaking and canoeing.
Visit the Museum of Man in the Sea and, if you like country music, the Ocean Oprey.
Day 4: Perdido Key, Florida
Head to the Florida/Alabama border, specifically the Playa Delrio RV Park and Yacht Club in Perdido Key.
Explore Pensacola, America's oldest settlement, or visit the Gulf Islands National Seashore.
Day 5: Tallahassee
Travel to Tallahassee, capital of the state of Florida.
Stay at Tallahassee RV Park, located in the city's rolling hills.
Explore the city, including Florida State University, State Capitol and other points of interest.
Day 6: Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park
Head to Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park, a unique biologically, geologically and historically preserved area.
Visit Micanopy, a historic town nearby.
Day 7 (and, if desired, days 9 and 10): Orlando
If desired, add extra days to explore Orlando, including Walt Disney World.
Fort Wilderness Campground is recommended for accommodation.
Take the opportunity to explore the attractions, but remember to book in advance.
Day 8: Return to Kissimmee
Drive 20 miles to the Cruise America location in Kissimmee to drop off your motorhome.
