The first excursion is to Bop-kaap, with a rich history dating back over 360 years. Known for its famous rainbow-colored houses and cobblestone streets, it's an area rich in cultural heritage, the birthplace of Islam, and its mosques. We will visit Groote Schuur Hospital, where the world's first heart transplant operation took place, performed by Christian Barnard. We will pass through the ghetto and the neighborhood of the country's poorest population along the N2, many of them national emigrants, mainly from the Eastern Cape, the country's poorest province. Here we'll visit the village museum, which consists of four historically interesting houses and their gardens. Each of these beautiful houses represents a different period in Stellenbosch's architectural development. The spire since 1692 offers a variety of good quality wines and open music concerts during the summer, a place for eagle watching and hiking trails through the forest. The farm offers wildlife, flora, and viticulture opportunities, and is a popular venue for weddings and conferences. Viewing big cats, such as black and white African lions and African leopards, Bengal and white tigers, and other large cats, antelopes, and other animals, is optional. We will have a lunch of French cuisine, wine tasting and a glass collection and museum designed by the owner, from France, Madame du Rhinoceros located on the slopes of Simonsberg was reacquired by May de Lencquesaing, the Grande Dame of Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande in Bordeaux. This wine estate is South Africa's most desirable destination for wine, hospitality, and art, a magnificent property in the Cape Winelands. We can explore the wine room after booking, as the chances of getting a table are slim. From there, we have a panoramic view of the valley and the best view of Franschhoek Mountain, with an elephant likeness that represents the last elephant that left Franschhoek shortly after the occupation by French Huguenot refugees who fled Europe against religious persecution. One of the oldest wine estates in the country, owned by Jean de Long, a Huguenot refugee who came to the Dutch Cape Colony due to religious persecution in Europe. The estate is also the first to grant land to Salve for agricultural activity. The garden is inspired by the Dutch VOC company in East India, when the Cape was a midway station between Europe and Asia. Here we have the opportunity to buy wine and other organic artisanal products and taste wines, weather permitting. As we approach Cape Town along the N1, on the right side of the road, we will have a view of the AFRIKAANS TAAL monument, the language museum about the use of language by the oppressor during the Apartheid era, which speaks of the contrast of the development of language and its values. The Century City is also known as the Canal Promenade. The city was founded in 1998, when construction began, but it was inaugurated in 2000, when we entered the 21st century. You will have to visit the largest bronze monument in the world, which displays apartheid fighters and veterans representing the Black population. Woodstock was the country's first warehouse, as the timber used to build the Cape, most of the buildings, was stored there.
