Half-day excursion to Tipon, Pikillaqta and Andahuaylillas

You'll begin your journey in Tipón, a perfectly preserved archaeological site located 27 kilometers from the city of Cusco. Near the town of the same name, where an impressive colonial rural mansion stands (1650), there are 12 cultivated terraces, several enclosures, and an irrigation system considered a masterpiece of hydraulic engineering still used by the surrounding population. Then continue to Pikillacta, which corresponds to the Wari culture, ancestors of the Incas. Among its 700 structures, covering more than 3,000 hectares, are two- and three-story stone and mud buildings, fine andenería, and condor heads carved into the rock. Finally, you'll visit Andahuaylillas, a town located 40 kilometers from Cusco that is home to the Church of Andahuaylillas. Also called the Sistine Chapel of America due to the high quality of the art pieces found there. Today, it boasts a recently restored original pipe organ. From here, you'll return to Cusco.
