Muir Woods and Sausalito with Bay Cruise

Take a break from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco with a half-day tour of Muir Woods and Sausalito, plus a 4-hour bike rental to explore the city at your leisure.

Cross the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and venture into the steep coastal mountains of Marin County. Take in stunning views of the San Francisco Bay and the valleys that were once home to the Coast Miwok people. Our first stop is Muir Woods National Monument, where ancient groves of giant sequoias (Sequoia sempervirens) rise along Redwood Creek. Admission to Muir Woods is included on all our tours, and you'll have 90 minutes to explore the park at your own pace.

Next, visit the picturesque seaside town of Sausalito, a charming Mediterranean-style village with quaint shops, art galleries, and waterfront restaurants for a 60-minute stop.

On your way back to San Francisco, embark on a 60-minute bay cruise at Pier 39, passing the famous sea lions at Pier 39 and sailing along San Francisco's historic waterfront, offering captivating views of the city's iconic skyline. As you sail beneath the Golden Gate Bridge, you'll skirt Alcatraz Island and capture every angle of this famous prison. Your trip also includes Angel Island, often referred to as the Ellis Island of the West, and the magnificent San Francisco skyline. This comfortable bay cruise offers both indoor and outdoor seating, with informative narration detailing the main attractions as you glide. Keep an eye on the water; you may spot porpoises swimming in the bay, as they have returned to these waters.

*Bay Cruise departure times vary and are seasonal. Visit the Blue & Gold Fleet website for the most up-to-date schedule. The Bay Cruise offers boarding without a reserved time slot. Cruises generally depart every 30 minutes to 1 hour.

* Disembark near PIER 39. This concludes your bus transportation for the day. After the Bahia Cruise, you will need to return to your hotel.
