It was 1927 when a Spanish adventurer named Victoriano López Robredo decided to open his first spice business. The following year, he decided to move it to a larger, more distinguished location, which he named 'EL GATO NEGRO'.
Famous in Buenos Aires for its spices, coffees and teas, this store maintains the incomparable style of an elegant warehouse with its remarkable display and variety of spices, aromatic seeds, condiments, herbs, coffees, teas and packaged products of the highest quality.
The coffee is roasted by hand in the same place and with the same roaster as before.
You can let your imagination run wild and imagine yourself in Amsterdam or London, although it seems neither of these cities has a business with such characteristics and such a wide selection. Their reputation and clientele are international.
The site was declared a Site of Cultural Interest by the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and a Notable Bar by the Commission for the Protection and Protection of Notable Cafes, Bars and Confectioneries of the City.

- Vegetarian: Caramelized onion, parmesan, zucchini, eggplant, arugula and seasoned mayonnaise.
- Caprese: Mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, basil, olive oil and pesto.
PASTRY One portion per person to choose from the counter display (check with the waiter for available options)
HOT DRINK: Tea or coffee with milk, one per person from the following options: Black Tea Blends: spices, chocolate with orange, roses, chai, chocolate with dulce de leche, vanilla and cinnamon, rosehip and hibiscus, blueberry with apple, red fruits. Green Tea Blends: jasmine, tangerine, and orange, mint, orange, and ginger. Red Tea Blend: lemon and orange. Blue Tea Blends: with hibiscus and orange, lemon, and ginger.
A COLD DRINK Freshly squeezed orange juice or lemonade with fresh ginger (one per person)
