We will walk through the Aburrá Valley, promoting the practice and exchange of cultures and languages: Spanish, English, Portuguese, Italian, German, Mandarin, Arabic, etc. We will start at San Ignacio Park, in front of the auditorium of the University of Antioquia, near the Ayacucho tram line, a street that represents the economic and cultural development of Medellín. Then we will walk until we catch the bus to the neighborhood “El Faro”, from where we will start walking until we reach Cerro Pan de Azúcar, today called Jardín, a rock formation located in the center of the city. We will see archaeological sites of the Aburraes indigenous people that are over 250 years old. Cerro or Morro Pan de Azúcar has several entrances and exits, through several neighborhoods, covering a total of 105 hectares. It is the highest of the 8 emblematic hills of the Aburrá Valley and offers a 180° view, full of contrasts between the city and the countryside planted with all types of vegetables; coffee, cocoa, tobacco and fruits. It is located in the center-east (commune nº 8), at a base height of 1,698 meters above sea level, and at a top height of 2,138 meters above sea level. The nose has that magical ancestral essence. Climbing the green and rocky hill, we can breathe fresh air, stroll among nature and enjoy the fauna and flora, and see the city from several viewpoints. We will also see archaeological sites of the Aburraes indigenous people, who built their crops, their homes and one of the three royal roads made of white stone that is over 200 years old and leads to the Magdalena River, through which all colonization penetrated, in a rocky ecosystem for Latin America. Then we will go down another path that connects with the Sol de Oriente neighborhood, until we reach Uva de La Libertad, El Pinal neighborhood, to end at line M; El Pinal metro station

Tour of the Aburrá Valley

After a hotel reception (see Observation), we&#39;ll set off for a visit to Botero Square, home to sculptures by Colombian artist Fernando Botero, famous for his use of the volumetric style. Next, we&#39;ll take a panoramic tour of Barefoot Park and Desires Park, an urban transformation zone that showcases the city&#39;s development, which was recognized worldwide by winning the most important urban planning award: the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize, considered the Nobel Prize of cities. The local culture, known as paisa, is a global benchmark for Colombia. During the visit to Pueblito Paisa, we&#39;ll explore the region&#39;s ancient architecture and customs. Throughout the tour, we&#39;ll experience contemporary culture and the city&#39;s vibrant hustle and bustle through public transportation, including the metro and the Metrocable (cable subway), a new cable car system that connects to a working-class neighborhood. We&#39;ll visit Comuna 13, where we&#39;ll learn about the social transformation of this population, where successful processes have enabled the social reintegration of this area, and which show a different side of the city—an authentic and unforgettable experience.
