Afterwards, cross over to Trunyan village and explore on foot, visiting the temple and its ancient mythical trees, and then continue to Trunyan&#39;s final shrine in a traditional wooden canoe paddled by locals as they discuss their passage fees. When a villager dies, the people here simply leave the deceased&#39;s body on the ground to decompose naturally; it is said that the corpses have no odor. Afternoon tour of Hobbiton

Departing Auckland on the 1:00 PM ferry from central Auckland, you&#39;ll be met at Waiheke Wharf. The tour begins with a drive along the scenic northern route, taking in spectacular views of the Hauraki Gulf and the Coromandel Peninsula beyond. The first stop is for a tasting and a casual lunch at a local vineyard. Weather permitting, after lunch, head to Onetangi, a 1.87-kilometer-long north-facing beach with beautiful, ancient Pohutukawa trees lining the shore.
