Strawberry Field, the site immortalized by John Lennon in the Beatles' hit "Strawberry Fields Forever," opened its iconic red gates to the public for the first time in 2019. Previously the site of a Salvation Army orphanage, where a young John Lennon played, it now serves as a unique addition to Beatles tourism. Complete with an interactive visitor exhibit, café, shop, gardens, and—in essence—"Footsteps in Strawberry Field."
Through the exhibition, visitors can learn more about the site's history, including stories of the former orphanage and how John wrote the famous song. The 'Imagine More' Café is a place to socialize and enjoy delicious locally sourced dishes. The shop offers a wide variety of authentic goods from hand-picked vendors, many of whom are local. The gardens offer a peaceful space for reflection and a place to explore spirituality.
