City Tour in El Calafate
Let's begin our tour with a walk through the city, exploring the most traditional places. Our first stop will be Punta Walichu, an archaeological site located 8 km away. There, we can observe the remains left by the region's first inhabitants.
The walk along the coast reveals original rock paintings and reproductions, as well as providing a spectacular view of Lake Argentino and the Andes.
The tour also includes the main streets of the old city, where we will see the first buildings typical of the pioneers and current buildings of the civic center.
During the tour, the guide will transport us back in time, sharing stories of the first settlers and highlighting the flora, fauna, and other fascinating aspects of this charming tourist village.
We will visit the Paseo Costero and Bahía Redonda, located a few meters from the shores of Lake Argentino. This area offers the opportunity to observe the rich life of local birds in their natural habitat.
Finally, we will make a stop at the Historical Interpretation Center. Through a self-guided tour, we can explore the most significant events in local history, from the Ice Age to the present day. This will be a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of El Calafate, located on the shores of Lake Argentino.
