Full Day Tour to Caral in Lima

We will take a fascinating journey into the past on a guided tour of the ancient sacred city of Caral, considered the oldest civilization in the Americas. We’ll head north from Lima towards the Supe Valley, where we’ll find this impressive archaeological site that flourished between 3000 and 1800 BC, being contemporary with the ancient civilizations of Egypt, India, Sumeria and China — but, surprisingly, developing in complete isolation.

Upon arrival, we will explore the monumental ruins of Caral, which reveal a complex and highly organized society. We will visit ceremonial pyramids, sacred squares, altars and ritual fireplaces, spaces where religious festivities were celebrated that maintained social cohesion. Based on archaeological discoveries, we will understand how religion played a central role in the political and economic organization of this enigmatic civilization.

We will also learn about the impact and importance of Caral as the main center of a network of cities along the Supe Valley, surpassing in antiquity even the Olmec civilization of Mesoamerica.

After the visit, we will head to the city of Huacho, where we will enjoy a delicious local lunch, ending the day with the authentic flavors of the region. It will be a journey rich in history, culture and unforgettable discoveries.
