Description
We will enjoy a special tour of one of the most important buildings in the Florentine historic center. The Florence Duomo Complex tour includes the city's Cathedral, Baptistery and Opera del Duomo Museum.
Florence's Duomo was designed by Arnolfo di Cambio, the same architect of Santa Croce and Palazzo Vecchio, who began the project in 1294.
After Di Cambio, many other architects contributed to the final appearance of the building, which was completed in 1436. Inside Florence's Duomo you will find extraordinary works of art.
Starting with the floors, softly covered in multicolored marble, and continuing through the inner part of the dome, covered by the precious frescoes of the Last Judgment made by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari or by the famous fresco Dante Before the City of Florence by Domenico de Michelino.
Meeting point for the tour - 09:45 am - DUOMO SQUARE – In front of the San Zanobi colonna close to the Baptistery (please arrive 15 minutes early!)
