The Gravedigger's Ghost Bus Tour begins at Trinity College, where your guide will transport you back some 600 years to the ancient Augustinian Priory and, of course, the plague house. The latter is something your guide is very familiar with... But just ignore the coughing and listen to their stories of a plague-ravaged Dublin. Hear an account of plague victims trying to soothe their wounds in the waters of the city's drinking fountains. Learn about the mayor's schemes to try to keep the disease under control and discover the fate of all the poor souls who were infected with it. Join your guide as they lead you through the strange and wonderful events of times past, unearthing legends and ghosts of Dublin's past. Select a tour stop from the navigation bar below to learn and read more about what to expect. Visitors can see the site where St. Fechin founded a Christian monastery in the 7th century. It is believed that before his death, 300 monks lived in the community. The monastery later burned down 12 times. Among the ruins on the site, visitors can see St. Fechin's church, built around 900 AD.
