Cordillera de la Viuda - Mountain Exploration

Enjoy a day of hiking and adventure in Canta and discover the legend of the Cordillera da Viuda.

ITINERARY

Departure (5h)

During the trip, we will enjoy the beautiful and impressive landscapes of the Lima highlands.

On the way to the Cordillera de la Vida, we will pass by the Checta Petroglyphs, where traces of stylized drawings of animals, humans hunting, elements of the cosmos, and other somewhat abstract elements that are open to different interpretations were found on rocks.

On the way, we will stop to see the Cochapampa viewpoint.

We will reach our main point: Laguna de Chuchun, Laguna Ocho, Laguna Leoncocha and the sighting of the snow-capped peak of La Viuda.

After enjoying the stunning scenery, we'll visit the HUAROS community fish farm, where we can learn a little more about trout farming.

Lunch

In the afternoon: Visit to Canta - Santa Rosa de Quives.

We will visit the city of Canta, also known as Villa Heroica, as it played a leading role in the battles for independence and the war with Chile.

City Tour of Canta, to visit the Plaza de Armas with its historic colonial pool, the republican-era portals, the church to admire the patron saints of Canta, the most important Marechal Chaperito.

We will visit the market where you can do your shopping, we recommend: (flatbread, rolls, rosquitas, humitas, tamales canteños, honey, manjar blanco, beef butter, beef cheeses, beef, etc.).

Visit to the sanctuary where our Patron Saint lived, the chapel and the wishing well.

Arrival in Lima at the same place of departure - 9 pm.
