If you have a few days in the Split and Trogir area, this might be the trip you're looking for. Krka National Park is one of two Croatian National Parks containing lakes and waterfalls. We'll take you to two sites of outstanding natural value within the National Park, with a boat trip through the river canyon included.
But let's start with the plan. We'll meet in Split or Trogir and take a 1.5-hour drive to the Lozovac entrance, as this is the best place to start the 2-km hike around the Skradinski Buk waterfall (a relaxing downhill walk as the views increase). Pass by the old watermill system while our guide explains some of the history and traditions of this area. Then continue this fantastic walk along the wooden path with small lakes and waterfalls throughout. This is truly one of the most preserved ecosystems in Croatia.
After two and a half hours in Skradinski Buk, we continue our journey with a boat ride through the river canyon to our second location within the National Park, the lovely little town of Skradin. At this lower point of the creek, we can cool off during hot summer days with a nice dip in the Krka River.
And last but not least, a special treat for those who enjoy excellent local food and wine. Just a 10-minute drive from our swimming spot, we have a small village called Plastovo, known for some beautiful local family-run food and wine stops. We'll do a wine tasting (included), learn about its production and history, and, if you choose, sample some of the local specialties the family offers. The summary would be: A total of 5 hours within Krka National Park at two locations with exceptional views and landscapes, a boat trip, swimming in the Krka River, and an additional visit to a local family-run food and wine tavern (agritourism).
A relaxing day out of the city that everyone will enjoy. We ended the day by returning to Trogir and Split via highway. Check out the itinerary!
