Expedition through the Andes: From Villavicencio to the Chilean Border

Villavicencio Caracoles Viewpoint

The tour begins with a climb up the winding curves known as Caracoles de Villavicencio, a stretch of mountain road full of zigzags, arid landscapes, and panoramic views. Border with Chile: Cristo Redentor Tunnel

The crossing between Argentina and Chile is through the iconic Cristo Redentor Tunnel, an international tunnel excavated under the Andes Mountains that connects the two countries amidst the snow-capped peaks. Extending over 3,000 meters, the tunnel is a landmark of engineering and integration between the nations, symbolized by the statue of Christ the Redeemer installed at the highest point of the crossing.
