1.Central Park
Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, Central Park opened to the public in 1857 and covers 3,41 square miles of land on the island of Manhattan. The park has a variety of features, including lakes, ponds, waterfalls, streams, rocky outcrops, and hills that offer great views of the city skyline.

The High Line is a linear park built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets of Manhattan's West Side. Construction on the site began in 2006, following an idea by artist/designer James Corner and local urban planner Robert Hammond.
